The teacher implements classroom and family engagement activities according to the needs and interests of children and families as well as Oregon Early Learning Guidelines and Department of Early Learning and Care requirements. The teacher also communicates with families, community partners and other professionals.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in each responsibility and essential function of the position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Individual will hold a valid driver's license and have reliable, insured transportation. If selected for the position, individual will complete a pre-employment background check.EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:TSPC license which allows him/her to provide special education at the preschool level, ORBaccalaureate Degree in early childhood, special education or a related field and be authorized by ODE within 12 months of employment.Individuals with TSPC licensure must maintain licensure which allows him/her to teach special education at the preschool level, which has its own professional development requirements.Individuals with an authorization from ODE must have a professional development plan based on the EI/ECSE competencies.
