ApplyJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYPediatrician Faculty is an educational, medical and administrative position with responsibility for quality of patient care, teaching and supervision of physicians participating in the residency programs with The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education.RequirementsDUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Educational Responsibilities:Serve as Preceptor to residents/medical students in clinic settingLead 8-10 resident didactic conferences per academic year; leading the noon conference counts as two conferences. Conference requirements may change based on schedules.Timely and thoroughly complete resident evaluations and direct observation assessmentsParticipate in scholarly activities as it relates to care delivery and performance and programmatic improvementParticipate in annual program evaluationParticipate in curriculum development as requestedAssist in monitoring resident stress, with the goal of identifying mental or emotional conditions that inhibit performance and/or learning and advise the Associate Program Director and/or Program DirectorParticipate in orientation and graduation ceremonyActively participate in preparation and maintenance of ACGME and AOA Program accreditationModel and promote physician professionalismTimely complete patient care documentation in the outpatient and inpatient settings. Actively mentor trainees and oversee learner driven portfolioParticipate in academic societies in order to enhance your educational skillsAttend weekly coordinators meetingsAchieve and maintain Board Certification, CMES, ACLS/BLS/PALS/ certificationPromote/demonstrate scholarly work and upload all scholarly work into My Evaluations software programPediatrician Responsibilities:Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosisExamine children regularly to assess their growth and developmentPrescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and childrenCollect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination resultsAdvise patients, parents or guardians, and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease preventionTreat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concernsMonitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardiansPlan and execute medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescentsRefer patient to medical specialist or another practitioner when necessaryDirect and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, and other medical staffPractice as a pediatric primary care physician-provider and teacher at TWCCH with a minimum availability of 32 hours of patient care per week equal to 96 available slots. Must be present in the clinic(s) at least 40 hours per week, which includes administrative time for faulty meetings, leadership meetings, etc.Participate in twelve (12) weekends on call per year (one per month). Weekend call is Friday starting at 5:00pm to Monday at 8:00 amParticipate in Sunday and holiday rotation schedules; holiday rotation includes 1 -2 holidays per yearProvide on call once weekly and as first call physician, with occasionally more frequent service to cover colleagues' vacation time during the week or during unexpected emergenciesDemonstrate compliance and highest integrity with industry recognized billing practicesMaintain Board Certification, CMEs, BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certificationPerform other duties consistent with position and specialty as assigned by The Wright Center
