• Position : SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER A• Client : Automation & Robotic Industry• Location : Computer Center, 20970 Telegraph Rd, SouthField MI, 48033• Duration : 12 months•• Shift : General ShiftTECHNICAL SKILLS• Certified Weld Inspector• CUSTOM FIELDS• Cost Centre• UI119• Direct/Indirect• Direct (project based)• Shift DayJOB DESCRIPTION• Act as the main Supplier Quality interface among Supplier, Purchasing, Engineeringand Integrated Supply Chain Management.Duties and Responsibilities(these are the positions essential duties and is not an all inclusive list)Main areas of responsibilities are:• Execute and manage the implementation of Global and Regional Supplier Qualitystrategies.• Support sourcing strategies by coordinating with Purchasing, Engineering andManufacturing in order to define the quality criteria for outsourced commodities.• Perform and participate in supplier evaluation, qualification and provide input tomanage risks related to the suppliers.• Perform Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) as required with external suppliers whenapplicable for High Risk components, including:• Material Forecasting and Follow Up• On site reviews to ensure On Time Delivery• Management of engineering changes with suppliers as it relates to project timing• Material Buy Off and component requirement approval (including the use theProduction Part Approval Process (PPAP) were applicable for Standard Products(P0))• Communication of timing risks to Project Management, including recovery plans• Lead problem solving efforts for all systematic supplier related Non-ConformanceReports (NCRs) for all outsourced materials, processes, parts and other commodities.• Collect quantitative supplier information to prepare reports focusing on supplierperformance and effectiveness of their operations against metrics.• Provide training & feedback to the supplier and lead the efforts to implement steps tocontinuously improve supplier performance.• Participate and/or lead the supplier development process with suppliers.• Drive and support all World Class Manufacturing (WCM) supplier improvementinitiatives• Supplier• work-in-progress activities to ensure on-time-deliveryKnowledge & Skills• Possess the ability to read, interpret and communicate Customer prints, specificationsand dimensional tolerances.• Experienced in interacting with cross-functional team members to achieve alignmentand commitment to keep supplier quality as an important deliverable.• Knowledge of Quality concepts and tools such as Measurement Systems Analysis,Inspection Techniques, Control Plans, Problem Solving and Kaizens.• Knowledge of auditing processes such as Process Planning and Audit, 8 Stages ofIncoming Material or 5 Questions for Zero Defects is preferred• Advance knowledge of Statistical Techniques, Process Capability, PPAP, Design &Process FMEA's, and Advanced problems solving Tools is preferred• Knowledge of key processes such as machining, welding, casting or other criticalmanufacturing processes is preferred.• Knowledge of Non-conforming Material Reporting (NCR) process.• The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.• Ability to travel to supplier locations and facilities.
