DescriptionAmazon is seeking an Electrical Installation Lead to drive the successful installation, testing, and deployment of electrical systems for automation and material handling equipment across multiple facilities. This role provides deep electrical engineering expertise, including power distribution, controls integration, and electrical safety compliance. The Electrical Installation Lead will coordinate across engineering, construction, and operations partners to deliver safe, high-quality installations at scale, ensuring every project meets Amazon’s rigorous safety, timeline, cost, and quality standards.Key job responsibilitiesLead delivery of complex electrical installation projects with multi-site impact ($10M to $50M scope)Provide technical expertise for electrical systems, power distribution, and controls integrationDesign and implement electrical solutions for automation systems and material handling equipmentFollow and help develop electrical standards and best practices compliant with NEC/NFPAWork cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and operations teamsParticipate in technical reviews and drive electrical engineering excellenceOversee electrical contractors and validate installation qualityCreate and review electrical single-line diagrams and construction drawingsConduct power studies and load calculations for facility automation systemsSupport achievement of safety, timeline, cost, and quality metricsProvide technical input for electrical system design and modificationsManage relationships with electrical contractors and equipment vendorsNote: Candidate can sit out of any Amazon location in US.A day in the lifeAs a Operations Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert in the electrical installation, testing, and deployment of automation and material handling solutions. This role requires strong electrical engineering expertise and the ability to collaborate across organizations to drive safe and efficient implementations across multiple sites.Basic Qualifications Experience in engineering including a supervisory role managing people Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience Ability to travel up to 50% domestically 10+ years of OEM experience in MIL/EIL scope may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.Preferred Qualifications Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems Experience in preventative maintenance systems Experience working with and managing third party vendors Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate levelAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
