Overview As a Network Platform Architect at Intel, you will define, build, and secure the network strategy that supports cutting‐edge technologies. This role drives architectural reviews, solves complex network challenges, and delivers secure and efficient infrastructure to meet evolving business needs. You will design end‐to‐end platform integration and adapter architecture for networking products, collaborating with partners and customers to stay current on connectivity, manageability, and thermal trends. Responsibilities 1) IPU/DPU/NIC Card / Adapter Architecture Ownership Define the adapter card architecture for IPU‐based NIC products, including form factor, I/O topology, partitioning between SoC and board, and platform integration requirements. Own board‐level architecture aspects such as PCIe connectivity, retimer/redriver, clocking/reset, SPI/I2C/SMBus/USB topology, secure boot/update hooks, and debug interfaces. Drive system partitioning decisions, author and maintain platform architecture artifacts, and lead cross‐functional reviews with silicon, board, firmware/software, validation, and manufacturing teams. 2) Platform Manageability Interconnect and Serviceability Architecture Design the manageability architecture for adapters across OEM variants, defining sideband/manageability interfaces, data‐plane vs. management‐plane traffic separation, and platform integration constraints. Ensure support for inventory, sensor/telemetry exposure, secure device identity, firmware lifecycle hooks, and OEM compatibility. Coordinate with firmware/software teams to translate requirements into implementable roadmaps. 3) Platform Thermal, Power, and Reliability Requirements Define adapter‐level thermal and power envelopes: card power targets, power states, throttling/derating, cooling assumptions, and power delivery architecture. Coordinate with mechanical/thermal engineering to establish feasibility, and set platform‐level reliability expectations such as sensor placement, fault containment, diagnostics, and service workflows. 4) Cross‐Functional Leadership and Execution Serve as the single platform architecture voice, connecting SoC architecture decisions with adapter constraints and OEM deployment realities. Lead technical alignment across silicon architecture, board design, firmware/software, validation, and operations, and partner with product/program leadership to define milestones, gating criteria, and readiness for customer/OEM engagements. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 8+ years' experience in NIC/adapter platform architecture, server platform architecture, SoC‐to‐board integration, or high‐speed I/O platform design. Demonstrated experience defining adapter/card architectures that balance electrical, thermal, mechanical, cost, and manufacturability constraints. Strong understanding of platform manageability concepts and sideband integration across OEM environments. Experience defining and closing thermal/power envelopes for add‐in cards or tightly constrained platforms. Proven ability to drive cross‐functional alignment and deliver architecture specifications for teams to execute. Bachelor's degree in computer science, network engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hyperscale/OEM deployment constraints for adapter cards (serviceability, telemetry, fleet operations). Expertise in high‐speed I/O and Ethernet NIC platforms (signal integrity tradeoffs, system bring‐up, platform‐level debugging). Leadership experience owning platform readiness across multiple SKUs or OEM variants, balancing commonality and forks. Familiarity with translating requirements into phased implementation plans under resource constraints. Strong problem‐solving and communication skills, ability to navigate complex business processes and translate them into actionable network strategies. Benefits Competitive pay, stock bonuses, and benefits covering health, retirement, and vacation.
