Req# 93100041General Statement Of Responsibilities:This is a FLSA exempt position. The incumbent serves as the Regional Assessment Clinician for adults and children served by the nine community service boards that comprise Region 1. The Regional Assessment Clinician is responsible for providing crisis assessment to individuals diagnosed with mental health, intellectual disability, and/or substance use disorders in person or via telehealth. Schedule is based on the needs of the program and may be adjusted as program needs dictate. Rotating holiday work is required. The incumbent reports to the Regional Mobile Crisis Program Manager. The incumbent will assist with mobile crisis dispatch and team clinical backup support as needed. The incumbent is expected to act professionally and knowledgeably to ensure availability, response, and continuity in delivery of mental health services to all individuals. Incumbent will perform in accordance with professional ethics and established Region Ten policies and procedures. This is a hybrid work position, involving work from home and occasional travel to Region Ten CSB and other locations within Region 1 for service delivery, training, team-building, and community meetings.Major Duties:The essential functions of this job are starred below (*) under “Major duties.”Major Duties: *Conduct crisis assessments for individuals receiving mobile crisis response via telehealth as well as provide face-to-face crisis assessments as needed in order to support required mobile crisis team compositions. *Provides comprehensive clinical evaluations, assessments and treatment recommendations. *Collaborates with mobile responders to develop Safety Plans as appropriate. *Provide clinical consultation for mobile responders when Mobile Crisis Program Manager/Director is not available. *Dispatches mobile crisis responses when needed. Ensures the delivery of services in accordance with all applicable regulations, standards, and policies. Participates in assigned team meetings, staff meetings, etc. Perform other duties as assigned.The incumbent reports to Regional Mobile Crisis Program Manager. This position receives general supervision, referring situations to the Program Manager or Regional Mobile Crisis Director when clarification or interpretation of policy is needed. In carrying out position duties, they perform in accordance with applicable professional ethics and established Region Ten policies. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate leadership and initiative and to function with clinical skill, knowledge and excellence to promote optimal service delivery.Qualifications:EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in a human service field (special education, psychology, social work) licensed or licensed eligible required.Experience: Minimum of 1 year of documented clinical experience, preferably in assessments and/or crisis.Certification/License: Residency for clinical license (such as LCSW or LPC) or clinical licensure is required To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the program, a valid Virginia Driver’s License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required. For business use, access to a reliable automobile.KSASKnowledge Of: Characteristics and service needs of people in behavioral health crisis. Culturally competent behavioral health risk assessment techniques. Behavioral health continuum of care, including Emergency Custody Order and Temporary Detention Order criteria. Principles of trauma-informed care.Skills In: Assessment and intervention strategies for people in behavioral health crisis including safety planning, with a trauma-informed lens. Navigating technology platforms involved in providing telehealth services. Making clinical recommendations regarding levels of care.Abilities To: Deliver person-centered, culturally responsive services to individuals from all backgrounds. Conduct effective assessments both in person and via telehealth. Navigate electronic health record and other technology involved in providing services.
