Typical timeline to Journeyman is 24 years depending on experience and licensing progress.ResponsibilitiesAssist electricians with residential electrical service callsHelp troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in homesAssist with installing outlets, switches, lighting, panels, and wiringSupport electricians during residential remodel projectsMaintain tools and keep work areas clean and safeInteract professionally with homeownersMost work involves residential service, helping homeowners diagnose and repair electrical issues, with occasional remodel work.Work EnvironmentApprentices ride with experienced electricians to job sites and may work with different electricians as schedules require.
