Project Engineer

3Vi is a growing engineering practice headquartered in San Ramon, CA, with branches throughout California and the U.S. We have an opening for a Project Engineer to join our San Jose practice. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesProduce electrical calculations and designs in accordance with NEC, NFPA 70E, NESC, local codes, and design criteria manual. Electrical calculations may include volt drop, lighting designs, motor starting, conduit and wire sizing.Prepare lighting simulations in AGi32Prepare ETAP studiesParticipate in weekly meetings with the project teamPrepare markups electrical drawings and draft technical reportsPrepare spreadsheets and PowerPoint slides, as needed.Must be motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team to meet the project deadlines.Must be able to read, interpret, and implement requirements derived from manuals and electrical specifications.Review shop drawings and product data sheets is requiredParticipate in meetings in-person and over TeamsKey AttributesCandidate must have excellent communication skills, written and verbalMust have a passion for engineering, excellent attention to detail, and be willing to learn new skillsMotivated and able to work as part of a team or work independently on a task.Excellent time management skills.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. engineering program (required).NCEES (Engineer-in-Training) EIT or ability to obtain within one year of hirePrior experience with ETAP or Autodesk is a plusCompensationW2 $75,000 - $95,000 annually (depending on experience)BenefitsHealthcare (medical, dental, vision)Tuition reimbursementWork Authorization RequirementApplicants must be fully authorized to work in the United States for any employer, now and in the future.
