Paralegal and Regulatory AssistantAssist the Patent Attorney in managing and prosecuting the company's intellectual property.Prepare, file and assist with U.S. and foreign prosecution of patent and trademark applications; including:Preparation of Information Disclosure StatementsRecording patent and trademark assignmentsCorrespondence with inventors and draftsmenDocket all incoming mail from USPTO and foreign associatesRun regular docket reports.Maintain organized filing system (electronic and physical files). Monitor PTO Deposit Account.Coordinate with accounting department to ensure necessary budgeted amounts and replenish when necessary. Keep up to date on all PTO and PCT rules. Conduct trademark clearance searches.Coordinate and record submission of legal invoices to internal accounting organization. Administration of corporate contracts including administration of standard IP license agreements, hotel/exhibitor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, insurance certificates and equipment loan agreements.Education and/or Experience: High School diploma required (or equivalent), Paralegal Certificate is preferred with candidate having 3 - 4 years patent and trademark prosecution experience.Patent Prosecution experience is required. Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficient with USPTO Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR).Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills must.Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to respond to and resolve common inquiries complaints or conflicts with customers, venders, employees, peers and management. Ability to speak effectively on the telephone and in person. Ability to effectively present information to others.Ability to use and understand basic math. percentages.Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to perform well under stress when confronted with emergency situations. Attention to detail.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
