Technician Field for Landscape and Environmental Services

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with nature and contribute to meaningful projects.Job OverviewAs a Field Technician, you will collaborate closely with Team Leaders and Crew Foremen to execute essential tasks aimed at achieving project objectives. While a college or technical degree is not a prerequisite, a strong enthusiasm for outdoor work is crucial.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate light and heavy machinery as required for project completion.Conduct rough, finish, and fine grading to prepare seedbeds.Facilitate the installation of trees, shrubs, plugs, and seeds related to various ecological zones including turf, prairies, wetlands, and woodlands.Implement mulch, stone, and compost installations.Install sediment control devices such as silt fences and erosion control blankets.Manage invasive species through mechanical and chemical methods.Identify native and invasive plant species to support project needs.Participate in green infrastructure projects including rain gardens and best management practices (BMPs).Required SkillsProficiency in operating both light and heavy equipment.Experience in grading and soil preparation.Knowledge of landscape installation and ecological restoration techniques.Familiarity with sediment control measures and invasive species management.Ability to identify various plant species within native and invasive categories.Understanding of green infrastructure principles.QualificationsCandidates must be at least 18 years of age.Capability to work in varying weather conditions including rain, heat, and cold.Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.A genuine interest in outdoor work and a willingness to learn new skills is essential.Career Growth OpportunitiesAt Williams Creek, we are committed to fostering professional development.
