Nice Matin, a long-standing Provençal brasserie on the Upper West Side, is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Sommelier. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to hospitality and brings a strong foundation in both wine and cuisine. This role is well suited for a sommelier with fine dining experience who is looking to operate in a more approachable, neighborhood-driven setting while maintaining a high standard of fine wine service. Candidates should possess extensive wine knowledge, with a particular strength in mature vintages and classic regions. Advanced certifications (WSET Diploma, Master Sommelier track, or equivalent) are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities: Oversee cellar organization and maintenance Manage inventory  Maintain and evolve the wine list Collaborate on food and wine pairings Lead nightly wine service (4–5 evenings per week) Dedicate one day per week to administrative and program development duties This is a full-time position offering hourly compensation plus participation in the tip pool.
