LUH-72 Aircraft Mechanic III

General DescriptionWill augment Prime Contractor as an aircraft maintenance resource at US Army sites to ensure aircraft maintenance tasks are performed as required for the LUH-72 aircraft. This position is critical to the operational readiness of the aircraft and is vital to ensure aircraft are available for daily missions. Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.DUTIES Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components. Use technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Utilize aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers. Utilize excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. Make entries in aircraft logs and records. Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. Other duties as assignedEducation/ Experience Requirements High school graduate Must possess an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (AandP) certificate Must possess AIRBUS rotary wing aircraft experience and possess a minimum of 3-5 years of LUH-72, EC-145, or BK-117 experience Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have or be able to obtain base accesses Proficiency in MS Office suite Must be thoroughly familiar with AR 95-20, DA PAM 738-751, AR 700-138, and all associated aircraft maintenance manuals Must have own tools and ability to meet minimum tool list requirements, applying FOD and tool control best practices in accordance with AR 95-20 and Flight and Ground Operating Procedures.
