Watershed Representative Contractor

*Locations* Openings are available in the following office locations: * Murphy, NC * Knoxville, TN * Gray, TN * Paris, TN * Muscle Shoals, AL * Guntersville, AL *Position Summary* We are seeking *8 Watershed Representative Contractors* to support permitting and shoreline management activities on client *reservoirs*. This is a training-focused role that provides hands-on experience in environmental permitting, project management, customer service, field inspections, and environmental compliance reviews. The selected candidates will be responsible for processing *Section 26a permit applications*, conducting fieldwork, completing environmental reviews, and supporting watershed conservation and shoreline management initiatives. *Key Responsibilities* *Permitting & Environmental Review* * Participate in developmental assignments designed to build knowledge of permitting operations and watershed management practices. * Process applications for *Section 26a approvals* on client reservoirs. * Conduct field inspections and site visits associated with permit applications. * Complete *NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act)* and environmental reviews for proposed projects. * Maintain accurate records and documentation related to permitting activities. *Project Management & Customer Service* * Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely completion of permit reviews. * Communicate with property owners, contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams regarding permitting requirements. * Provide excellent customer service throughout the permitting process. * Support efficient processing of applications while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations. *Watershed & Shoreline Management* * Evaluate shoreline management requests for alignment with: * Watershed improvement goals * Natural resource conservation objectives * Environmental protection standards * Cultural resource preservation requirements * Support shoreline improvement projects and recreational resource management initiatives. * Assist with conservation and protection efforts across client-managed lands and reservoirs. *Career Development* * Gain increasing responsibility for more complex permitting projects as experience and proficiency develop. * Build expertise in environmental regulations, shoreline management, and resource protection programs. *Required Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. *Preferred Education* Degree in one of the following areas: * Environmental Science * Biology * Natural Resource Management * Environmental Studies * Ecology * Forestry * Wildlife Management * Geology * Related environmental or natural resource disciplines *Preferred Qualifications* * Knowledge of environmental permitting processes. * Familiarity with NEPA or environmental compliance activities. * Experience conducting fieldwork, inspections, or environmental assessments. * Strong project management and organizational skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Customer service experience. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. *Ideal Candidate Profile* The ideal candidate is an early-career environmental professional or recent graduate who is interested in: * Environmental permitting * Watershed management * Natural resource conservation * Regulatory compliance * Field-based environmental work * Public and stakeholder engagement Pay: $23.75 per hour Work Location: In person
