Data Analytics Engineer
Job Summary Our client, a leading Energy & Utilities provider, is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join their team! While the role carries an Analytics Engineer title, the primary focus is on dimensional data modeling and building the analytical foundation that supports enterprise reporting and analytics. This position is ideal for a hands-on data professional with strong experience in DBT, Snowflake, and star-schema design who enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to create scalable, analytics-ready data solutions.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain star-schema data models, including fact and dimension tablesBuild and support DBT models, testing frameworks, and transformation pipelinesDevelop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL workloads within SnowflakeApply data modeling best practices, including dimensional design, normalization, and denormalization techniquesPartner with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable analytical solutionsSupport data delivery from ingestion through transformation and into reporting and analytics layersParticipate in design discussions, peer reviews, and knowledge-sharing initiativesDocument data models, architectural decisions, and engineering standardsPromote consistency in modeling practices and data governance across the organizationHelp improve and maintain the analytical platform as data volume and business demands continue to growRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)Strong hands-on experience with DBT development and testingExtensive experience with Snowflake and SQL performance optimizationProven expertise designing and implementing star-schema dimensional modelsDeep understanding of fact and dimension modeling conceptsExperience supporting enterprise data warehousing and analytics environmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively within cross-functional teamsStrong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersSelf-starter mindset with the ability to learn independently through technical documentation and knowledge basesPreferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Azure cloud experienceAzure Data Factory (ADF)Python development experienceAPI integration experiencePower BI Semantic ModelsPower QuerySnowPro certificationDP-203 certificationExperience working in modern data platforms utilizing GitHub and contemporary cloud technologiesExperience contributing to data architecture and modeling standardsKey Competencies & BehaviorsStrong data modeling and analytical thinking capabilitiesCurious and continuous learnerSelf-motivated and highly independentCollaborative team player who enjoys knowledge sharingStrong attention to detail and commitment to data qualityAbility to balance technical excellence with business objectivesComfortable working in evolving environments and organizational changesSolution-oriented mindset with strong troubleshooting abilitiesPassion for best practices in data modeling and analytics engineeringWork EnvironmentContract position supporting a growing and stable enterprise analytics platformOpportunity to work with modern technologies including Snowflake, DBT, Azure, and GitHubOne-and-done onsite interview processHiring manager is focused on finding the right long-term fit rather than filling the role quicklyCollaborative environment that encourages learning, self-service, and continuous developmentCandidates should be comfortable working independently while partnering across technical and business teamsCompensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $38.00 and $55.00.
