Generalist I - Buffer

Location: Canton, GA, United States, 30107Company: Chart IndustriesEnsuring Chart’s Success…Chart's Generalist position plays an important role in the manufacturing process of Chart's products. This position will be responsible of producing high quality manufactured products that are assembled and used all over the world.What Will You Do?Pre-buff tank using handheld grindersFinal buff completed by operating machinePull tank off machine and roll onto pallet by hand; complete final wipe down/cleaningInstall labels onto tank and provide final inspection looking for defectsPerforms manual tasks using basic hand tools, including electric and air toolsMay be required to take measurements and read BOMs and drawingsCompletes required documentation on all work performedUnderstands and adheres to established safety and quality proceduresMaintains a clean work area and practices general acceptable housekeeping standardsPerforms all tasks to ISO standards and requirementsPerforms other duties as assigned.RequiredYour Experience Should Be...Basic math skillsAbility to accurately read a tape measureMust be able to learn how to read BOMS and drawingsOvertime and weekend hours, as neededPreferredHigh school diploma or GEDPrevious manufacturing experienceForklift experience, a plusFamiliarity with ISO proceduresYour Physical Work Environment Will Require…Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
