About the Position: Our ODMHSAS central pharmacy, based at Griffin Memorial Hospital and servicing multiple metro locations, is looking for a full-time Pharmacist to perform professional level work in filling and dispensing prescriptions. Potential for clinical emphasis.Examples of typical work duties include:Dispensing drugs, medications, narcotics, and other pharmaceutical supplies requisitioned by doctors, maintaining prescriptions filesPotentially periodically visiting wards to ascertain that emergency stock supplies are adequately stored and replenished supplies as necessary; checks patient charts for possible overdoses, drug interactions, side effects and proper paperwork; makes reports accordinglyRejecting prescriptions containing dosage believed excessive; consulting with physician on revision of prescriptions; may require physician's release of responsibility on overdosesKeeping abreast of current developments and literature; advising physicians of drugs and medications available and the use of alternate drugsJob Type/Salary: Full-timeTypical pharmacy hours:Weekdays: 6:00 am - 6:00 pmWeekends & Holidays: 6:00 am - 1:00 pm Rotating Schedule-Hours subject to change - not all weekends and holidays will be required.
