We are searching for a Power electronics design engineer located near Carlsbad, CAThis individual will play a key role in the development of DC-DC power converters.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and support DC-DC power conversion products and power electronics circuits.Develop and analyze isolated and non-isolated DC-DC converter designs.Apply knowledge of common power converter topologies, including:Buck converters, Boost converters, Buck-boost converters, Flyback converters, Half-bridge converters, Full-bridge convertersSupport the design and optimization of power stages, magnetics, control circuitry, and supporting components.Participate in schematic design, component selection, circuit analysis, and design verification.Perform hands-on troubleshooting, testing, and validation of power electronics hardware.Analyze converter performance, including efficiency, regulation, thermal performance, switching behavior, and overall system performance.Support product development from initial concept and design through prototype, testing, verification, and production release.Identify and troubleshoot design issues and recommend technical solutions.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in power electronics design and development.Hands-on experience designing or supporting DC-DC power converters.Experience with one or more power converter topologies, including buck, boost, buck-boost, flyback, half-bridge, or full-bridge.Understanding of fundamental power electronics concepts, including switching devices, magnetics, power losses, thermal considerations, and feedback/control principles.Basic knowledge of EMI/EMC and its impact on power electronics design.Experience with hardware testing, troubleshooting, and design verification.Ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions.Familiarity with magnetic component design, including transformers and inductors.Experience supporting products through the full lifecycle from concept through production.
