Catholic Religious Education (RE) Coordinator

Overview The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator serves as a key support resource to the Chaplain Corps at Beale Air Force Base. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing a comprehensive Catholic Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation program for children, youth, and adults within the base Catholic community. The Coordinator works closely with the assigned Catholic Priest/Chaplain and chapel staff to ensure all programs align with Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) requirements.Key Responsibilities Program Management Develop, coordinate, and oversee Catholic Religious Education programs for all age groupsManage sacramental preparation programs, RCIA, youth ministry, adult faith formation, and special religious eventsPrepare annual Religious Education needs assessments, calendars, and budget proposalsEnsure programs align with AMS and Air Force Chaplain Corps guidanceVolunteer & Teacher Coordination Recruit, train, supervise, and support RE teachers and volunteersEnsure all volunteers working with minors complete required background checksConduct teacher training sessions prior to program start and quarterly thereafterRecognize volunteers during Chaplain Corps Volunteer Appreciation eventsAdministrative Duties Maintain accurate attendance records, rosters, and electronic databasesPrepare and submit reports, budgets, and required documentation on timeDevelop and distribute publicity materials with chaplain approvalCoordinate facility requests, scheduling, and curriculum procurementMaintain continuity files and shared digital recordsRequired Qualifications Minimum age: 18 yearsHigh school diploma or GED required (Associate degree in education preferred)Basic Catechist Certification or documented coursework in theology or religious studiesPracticing Catholic in full communion with the ChurchMinimum two years' experience in religious education, parish ministry, or children's church programsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Powered by JazzHR
