Overview:Considering applying for this job Do not delay, scroll down and make your application as soon as possible to avoid missing out.Assists in orthopedic surgeries and procedures, managing pre- and post-operative care, monitor patient progress, and manage complications as necessary. Primary role is in the operating room assisting in surgeries with multiple different surgeons across joint replacements, sports medicine, and upper extremity casesDictates admission and daily progress notes, orders, and directs discharge planning & follow up, and works to improve the quality of care & patient satisfaction.Educates patients and/or families about conditions, discharge planning, preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications related to Orthopedic care in an outpatient office settingWorks collaboratively with other specialties in coordination and communication of patient care needsMaintains accurate and confidential electronic medical records: documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, discharge summaries and consultations consistent with state regulatory standardsWorks to collaborate with physicians, residents, and fellows, which facilitates timely consultative and referral serviceActive involvement with quality improvement initiatives as well as best practice models for the hospital and the Department of OrthopedicsIntegrates education, research, leadership, and consultation into clinical role and functions in collegial relationships with nursing peers, physicians, and professionals and others who influence the healthcare environmentParticipate in resident and staff education, independent or requested consultation, research, and administrative activities as assignedAnalyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or "hands on training" and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practiceQualifications:Must possess a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited school.Two years of experience as a practicing PA/NP preferred. Operating room experience strongly preferred.Must possess a State of Maryland Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License, in good standing.Certification Requirements - CPRMin: USD $45.22/Hr. Max: USD $81.40/Hr.
