SHIPPING LEAD (Aerospace Manufacturing)

With its rich 60-year history and new long-term contracts, Pressco is looking for a few key individuals who want to be a part of its continued growth and stability. We are seeking an experienced and eager department lead to prepare outgoing shipments to customer specifications, assist with receiving, part-mark, picking orders, and kit assembly. This position will work closely with our quality department, customer service, outside processing, receiving, inventory, and material handling personnel.
The Shipping Lead position is a full-time, on-site role based in Sumner, WA. The individual in this position will be responsible for the timely and accurate shipping of manufactured products to domestic and international buyers and customers, leading the department and assisting with receiving, inventory, and general shipping needs.
Job Duties and Essential Functions:
Prepare shipping documents, including but not limited to pack lists, customs/commercial invoice forms, and shipping labels, for domestic and international orders.
Utilizing the ERP computer system, customer portals, and in-house tracking systems to process shipment tracking
Utilizing online shipping platforms, including UPS, FedEx, DHL, specific customer portals, and other shipping software as applicable
Review final shipment documents, parts, and package contents, verifying order accuracy
Count and package parts with approved methods, materials, seal, and label with postage and/or shipping label
Schedule, track, and plan shipments to meet deadlines, and anticipate future shipments, schedule pick-ups with carriers
Communicate with shipping vendors via phone, email, or online as needed
Work with the corresponding quality control and customer service departments to ensure accurate information is processed
Pull future orders from stock in preparation for shipping
Assist and oversee part marking, picking orders, assembling kits, receiving, outside processing, raw material issuing, and miscellaneous department tasks as needed
Requirements:
Three or more years of prior lead shipping department experience in a manufacturing environment. (Experience in Aerospace manufacturing is a plus but not required)
Experience in shipping with UPS, FedEx and DHL online platforms and shipping internationally
General knowledge of proper packaging and packaging materials to use them appropriately
Excellent attendance and time management in this critical position. High volume times vary throughout the month typically the end of the month.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking
Proficient computer skills Windows 11, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), and online/web navigation. Knowledge of Infor Visual Manufacturing or Collins Portal is a plus but not required.
Walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment
Lifting and carrying up to 40lbs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with active listening. Must be fluent in English.
High School Diploma or GED
Per our ITARS registration, you must be a US citizen
This position is hourly non-exempt with a compensation range of $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, negotiable dependent on experience, and is evaluated regularly based on merit and performance. Upon completion of the probationary period benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Long-Term Disability, 401(k), and voluntary supplemental insurance options.
