Utility Worker

Alternate Concepts, Inc. (ACI) and Herzog Transit Services, Inc. (HTSI), collectively the ACI/Herzog Joint Venture, along with our key subcontractors are seeking applicants for the Hudson Bergen Light Rail operation located in Hudson County, New Jersey. ACI was founded in 1989 with their corporate office located in Boston, MA and Herzog founded in 1969 with corporate offices located in St. Joseph, MO and Fort Worth, TX. Combined our companies provide FRA/FTA compliant transportation, equipment maintenance, dispatching, right-of-way maintenance, facility maintenance and dispatching services for 20 distinct client properties. In addition to the Joint Venture being the upcoming operator/maintainer of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail, we currently jointly operate the Tren Urbano heavy rail service in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the CTDOT's Hartford intercity service in Connecticut.ACI/Herzog Joint Venture, along with our key subcontractors are currently seeking Utility Workers to join our team.The pay rate for this position is $20.64 per hour.The Utility worker is responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing utility system (e.g., electric, gas, power, water, sewer, telephone, communication, etc.) equipment in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements and company-implemented policies and procedures.Duties And ResponsibilitiesAccurately completes equipment inspection, work order, and other forms as required in a timely manner.Repair, replace and test machinery, components and systems related by performing mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic activities.Perform standard maintenance tasks including mechanical, electrical, and electro-pneumatic. Inspection and cleaning, including servicing restrooms as required.Be skilled in the use of all related hand tools such as pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic, and measuring instruments.Clean and maintain the work area, tools and equipment. Maintain qualifications to support service or maintenance in the shop and yard.Participate in and successfully complete required on-going training including periodic written, oral and hands-on testing. Dependable to report to work at scheduled time and is seldom absent.Regular and consistent engagement, participation, and promotion of ACI-Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.Other duties as assigned.
