Software Engineer

The Role We are hiring an entry-level software engineer to grow into owning features end-to-end across our web app, mobile app, and backend services. You’ll work close to the customer and alongside senior engineers — turning a foreman’s pain point into a shipped, reliable feature. This is a build-real-things-from-week-one role, with the support and code review to help you ramp fast. This is an agentic-first engineering role, and that is non-negotiable: we expect deep, hands-on familiarity with agentic coding using Claude Code (and similar tools). You will not be measured on lines of code typed. You’ll be measured on the quality and reliability of what you ship — with AI coding agents as a primary tool in how you get there. We want someone who already works as the director and reviewer of what an agent produces, not as a hand-typist competing with it. Agentic Programming at Momentum AI coding agents — principally Claude Code — are part of our daily workflow, not a side experiment. Even at the entry level, we’re looking for someone who is already genuinely fluent in this way of working. Concretely, that means: Spec-driven delivery — decomposing a fuzzy request into clear, verifiable specs an agent can execute against, with explicit success criteria and guardrails. Orchestration — running multi-step and parallel agent workflows: scoping the work, fanning out independent tasks, and keeping a coherent plan across a large change. Critical review — reading agent-generated diffs with a skeptical eye, catching the plausible-but-wrong, and holding the bar on correctness, security, and simplicity. Judgment about when not to — knowing which problems warrant a human-authored solution, a careful migration, or a slow, deliberate read of the code instead of a fast generation. Always learning — building better prompts, project guides, and review habits over time, and sharing what makes you faster and safer with agents. If you treat an agent as glorified autocomplete, this is the wrong role. If you already treat it as a tireless teammate you direct, verify, and amplify — we want to talk. What You’ll Do Build features end-to-end — from problem framing through implementation and deploy — with senior review and support as you grow into full ownership. Ship to production early and often — behind real permissions and real customer data — and learn the operational care that demands. Work across the stack — backend services, the web app, and the mobile app, picking the layer the problem actually lives in. Work agent-first — spec, orchestrate, and critically review AI-assisted work with Claude Code as a core part of your daily loop. Touch real external systems — ERP, telematics/GPS, and third-party APIs — learning to handle retries, graceful failure, and never leaking credentials. Talk to the people who use it — foremen and operators — and let their reality shape what you build. What You’ll Work With Our stack is pragmatic and modern. You don’t need every box ticked on day one — depth in a few and the ability to ramp fast on the rest matters more. Backend Python · FastAPI on AWS Lambda · Serverless deploys Data PostgreSQL / RDS · SQL-first · versioned migrations Web React · TypeScript · Vite · React Query Mobile React Native · Expo (iOS + Android, one codebase) Cloud AWS end-to-end — Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, CloudFront AI Claude on Amazon Bedrock for in-product intelligence; agentic tooling in the dev loop Integrations ERP (Spectrum), Plexxis, etc. About You Required Deep, hands-on familiarity with agentic coding paradigms using Claude Code (or equivalent). This is the bar that matters most — you should already build software by directing and reviewing AI agents, not just chatting with them. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science (or a closely related field). Projects, internships, coursework, or open-source contributions that show you can build and ship working software. Solid programming fundamentals and the ability to ramp on a new stack quickly. Working knowledge of at least one of our core languages — Python or TypeScript. A bias toward shipping, toward talking to the people who use what you build, and toward simple solutions. Strong people skills — you can sit with end-users and clients, listen well, explain things plainly, and turn their feedback into better software. Curiosity about how software meets the physical world, and the humility to ask questions. Bonus points for Any production experience — an internship, a launched side project, or open-source contributions. Experience with AWS, or interest in learning cloud infrastructure end-to-end. Building prompts, skills, or small tools that made your own agentic workflow faster or safer. React Native / Expo, or having shipped anything to the App Store or Play Store. A background or interest in construction, logistics, field operations, or other software-for-the-physical-world domains. Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Work Location: Remote
