CAIR San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a relationship-driven and mission-aligned candidate for the role of Community Engagement Manager. This position is central to CAIR-SFBA's advocacy and outreach efforts and plays a key role in building meaningful relationships across the Bay Area Muslim community. The ideal candidate will bring experience in grassroots outreach, volunteer engagement, and community partnership-building, and will be energized by working in a fast-paced, justice-oriented nonprofit environment. CAIR staff currently work a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of three days per week in the office and up to two days of remote work. Additional in-person attendance will often be required based on community and outreach needs.Schedule TypeFull-time. Exempt. Frequent evenings and weekends required.Reporting RelationshipsReports to the Executive Director. Duties & Responsibilities:Community Outreach & Relationship BuildingBuild, develop, and maintain strong relationships with diverse segments of the Bay Area Muslim community, including imams, halaqa leaders, MSA leaders, activists, and community organizersSpend approximately 50% of work time engaging in community spaces where Muslims gather, such as mosques, Islamic centers, community events, and student spacesServe as a liaison between CAIR-SFBA and community leaders to promote awareness and utilization of CAIR-SFBA programs, services, and campaigns through ongoing one-on-one and group engagementRepresent CAIR-SFBA at partner and ally organization meetings, events, and activities as neededVolunteer & Canvasser CoordinationRecruit, train, schedule, and supervise Community Canvassers, particularly for civic engagement and integrated voter engagement effortsLead and support community-building efforts among volunteers, canvassers, and staffProgram Support & Event EngagementMarket, promote, and support CAIR-SFBA outreach activities, programs, and events through tabling, flyering, and in-person and virtual engagementAssist with strategy, promotion, planning, and implementation of programs across departments, including legal education workshops, advocacy initiatives, fundraising events, and community forumsSupport ally organizations' events and actions as part of broader coalition-building and movement workInternal Collaboration & OperationsCoordinate with staff across departments to identify community needs and tailor outreach strategies accordinglyMaintain, replenish, and distribute outreach, marketing, and educational materialsOther duties as assigned, dependent on organizational needs and employee skills. All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, and other office tasks.Required Qualifications:Familiarity with and experience working within the American Muslim communityA minimum of three years of non-profit, campaign, or community organizing experience, focused on building power in communities via multiple strategies, including at minimum of one year of experience managing staff and/or volunteersExperience in community engagement, outreach, organizing, education, or direct service in a nonprofit, faith-based, or advocacy settingStrong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity, compassion, and professionalismStrong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with diverse audiences in person, by phone, and on virtual platformsExcellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilitiesComfort using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and digital communication and social media platformsDeep commitment to CAIR-SFBA's mission, values, and social justice workFlexibility and adaptability in a rapidly evolving, mission-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job dutiesExperience working with under-resourced or marginalized communitiesConversational proficiency in Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Somali, or UrduCompensation & Benefits:Compensation in the range of $92,888-100,454.68Fully paid Kaiser Health Insurance and Blue Cross PPO Dental Plan for employee and dependents401 (k) plan with an employer match12 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 12 vacation daysTo Apply: Please submit (1) a cover letter discussing your interest in the position, (2) your resume, and (3) the names and contact information of three references.
