JOB REQUIREMENTS: Kenosha County is looking for a full-time Mechanicresponsible for professional repairs and maintenance of all aspects to afleet of trucks and all equipment used by the Kenosha County HighwayDivision performed to factory quality or better. In addition, theMechanic will repair buildings and yards as needed. Education andexperience will determine Mechanic I or Mechanic II. Under generalsupervision of the Shop Superintendent, the Mechanic performs a widevariety of skilled mechanical repair, diagnostic and maintenance workall types of large trucks, automotive equipment, including heavyequipment, such as but not limited to tractor trailers, front endloaders, bulldozers, sweepers, rollers, paving machines, etc. andvarious tools and contractor\'s equipment. Mechanic II may be requiredto supervise general mechanics in their daily duties. Are youmechanically inclined? Do you enjoy figuring out how machines work? Duties include: Analyzes all types ofvehicles and equipment for need of repairs; analysis may involvediagnostic computer software for vehicle engine, transmission, andanti-lock brake systems Performs repairs on all types of enginesPerforms repairs to drive train, electrical and hydraulic systems, andall other systems on vehicles and equipment Performs routine maintenanceof all types on vehicles and equipment Welds and fabricates on vehiclesand equipment Performs repairs on various pieces of small equipmentRepairs tires and tubes Paints vehicles and equipment Makes servicecalls; repairs vehicles and equipment broken down while in serviceDetermines operational status of equipment or immediate placing ofequipment out of service Identifies parts, materials, and supplies to beordered to complete maintenance and repairs Performs other duties asrequired or assigned, which may include plowing and salting highways orany general activities involved in the maintenance of highways Workingfor Kenosha County will allow you to make an impact on the quality oflife for its citizens.
