We are advancing a diverse pipeline and delivery platform in the pursuit of uniting experts in science, technology, disease management, and care.Patient-focused and founded by those directly impacted by Duchenne, Solid’s mission is to improve the daily lives of patients living with devastating rare diseases.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated bench scientist to join the Molecular Therapeutics team to select our lead therapeutics. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background in human iPSC biology, animal husbandry, in vivo biodistribution studies (small and large animal), protein science, molecular biology, and quantitative imaging techniques.Key Position ResponsibilitiesContribute to both the inception and selection of AAV librariesOptimize in vitro and in vivo models to select lead therapeutics for translation to humansDesign and manage animal studies at contract vivariums and CROsQuantitatively compare VG, mRNA, and protein levels in cells and tissuesDetailed understanding of antibody and FISH imaging techniques to quantify biodistribution and expression levelsCollaborate within the MTx Department and across the R&D organization to incorporate selected therapies into the Discovery & Translational Development pipelineCommunicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations, patents, publications, and scientific conferencesExperience RequirementsPhD in Physiology, Pharmacology, Virology, or another related discipline and 0-4+ years of relevant experience preferredOr: MS and 6-8+ years of relevant experience; BS and 8-10+ years of relevant experienceStrong track record in experimental design, animal husbandry, molecular genetics and cellular biology, statistics, protein science, and imagingProficient in methods for quantitative analysis of nucleic acid and protein including nucleic acid extraction, ddPCR, ELISA, and MSDFamiliarity with lab automation systems is a plusHands-on experience with performing dosing and tissue collection procedures with mouse models is desirableProficiency in computing include Geneious, Endnote, BLAST, Ensembl, NCBI, Uniprot, UCSC, GTEx, Microsoft, PRISM statistics program, BenchlingStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaborativelyExcellent communication and presentation skillsCompensationThe base compensation range for this role is: $125,000 - $155,000Base salary offered is determined through an internal analysis utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.Regular employees are eligible to receive both short-term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward individual performance and align incentives to Solid’s long term company performance.Benefits And Solid AdvantagesAt Solid Biosciences we offer a highly competitive total rewards and benefits package, intended to support all aspects of our employees’ lives and well-being.
