Software Engineer
We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!The Role• Lead the technical direction for critical components of an autonomous navigation stack, including task planning, motion planning, control, and navigation software.• Own team-level architecture decisions and drive the evolution of production robotics systems, developing generalizations for safe and efficient operation across diverse environments.• Architect and implement next-generation ML and AI-based motion planning and task planning systems, impacting thousands of autonomous robots operating in fulfillment centers.• Act as a technical leader within a collaborative team, providing architectural guidance and mentorship to engineers.• Collaborate across teams including Perception, SLAM, Infrastructure, Fleet Management, and Coordination Services to deliver robust autonomous navigation solutions.• Lead projects requiring the work of multiple engineers, ensuring cohesive integration and technical excellence.What You'll Need• 5+ years of professional software development experience.• 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems.• 5+ years of experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, and testing.• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one software programming language.• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.• Expertise with C++ or TypeScript in production environments.• Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS or ROS2.• Experience implementing autonomous navigation systems or task planning with machine learning models.What's On Offer• Competitive annual salary ($168,100 - $227,400) plus potential for sign-on payments and restricted stock units.• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and parental leave.• Opportunity to shape the future of autonomous robotics at scale using state-of-the-art technologies.• Work with a rapidly expanding, cutting-edge autonomous mobile robotics team.Apply via Haystack today!
