Job Description Job ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities associated with this role encompass, but are not limited to:Utilizing a diverse array of professional theories, assessment techniques, and methodologies to provide care for patients with podiatric medical and surgical issues.Formulating comprehensive treatment plans.Integrating innovative clinical procedures into practice.Offering expert advice and consultation regarding the management of podiatric conditions.Effectively overseeing and guiding professional staff, particularly students and residents.Accurately evaluating the qualifications and skills of both current and potential employees.Fostering interpersonal relationships, including conflict resolution, and collaborating with other healthcare providers across various specialties and departments.Working efficiently with individuals or groups representing diverse clinical services.Diagnosing and treating medical and surgical disorders using the most suitable techniques to ensure high-quality care.Conducting initial evaluations, comprehensive workups, history and physical examinations, and admissions for podiatric patients as necessary. Clinical duties include, but are not limited to, operating room procedures (with experience in a wide range of standard podiatric surgeries), inpatient rounds, emergency room duties, and outpatient clinic responsibilities. The staff podiatrist will be proficient in performing various podiatric surgical procedures.Supervising students and residents who rotate through the podiatry service as needed.Engaging in surgical quality and performance improvement initiatives as appropriate.Participating in podiatry night call and executing emergency podiatric surgical procedures.Educating patients about their conditions and treatment plans. The staff podiatrist will evaluate the risks and benefits associated with surgical interventions for Veterans and ensure informed consent is obtained, allowing Veterans to fully comprehend the significant risks and advantages of surgical procedures.Completing all electronic clinical documentation and daily charting required by the Medical Center promptly, including necessary outcomes reporting.Consulting with Medical Center staff on various patient care matters.Upholding a policy of full disclosure.
