Maintains a 24-hour responsibilityfor designated units. Assists the Director of Nursing (DON) indevelopment, implementation and monitoring of compliance of nursingpolicies, procedures, performance improvement activities, facility andDepartment of Human Services (DHS) rules and regulations. Conductson-site audits of living units and nursing stations to monitor thedelivery of nursing and health care services as established by policiesand procedures. The Alton Mental Health Center strives to provideequitable access to social/human services, supports, programs andresources to enhance the lives of all who we serve.**Essential Functions** Serves as Assistant Director of Nursing in conformance withestablished professional nursing practices and standards for AltonMental Health Center. Serves as full-line supervisor. Serves in a leadership capacity for Nursing Services. Conducts on-site audits of living units and nursing stations tomonitor the delivery of nursing and health care services asestablished by policies and procedures. Participates in hospital-wide committees to improve quality ofpatient care. Serves in a leadership capacity for Nursing Services in the absenceof the Director of Nursing. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonablywithin the scope of the duties enumerated above.**Preferred Qualifications** Three (3) years of professional experience supervising p ofessionalnursing staff. Three (3) years of professional nursing experience working withindividuals with mental illnesses. Three (3) years of professional experience recommending and/orpreparing treatment plans for patients. Three (3) years of professional experience recommending andimplementing nursing policies and procedures followingevidence-based practice and nursing standards. Three (3) years of professional experience performing qualityassurance assessments on nursing services and treatments provided topatients. Three (3) years of professional experience communicating withinternal and external stakeholders in oral or written form relativeto the care and treatment of patients.**Conditions of Employment**Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited fromrecreational use under Illin
