Rail Terminal Operator
This safety sensitive position will help the Lead Terminal Operator be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the Fabian Waterville Rail Terminal. The Terminal Operator will also fill in when the Lead Operator is not available. The position includes other company-wide duties needed to help ensure the success of Fabian and Valley Gas and Oil.
Essential Functions
Always maintain focus on Safety.
Connect and offload rail cars in any weather condition.
Accurately monitor and account for inventory
Maintenance of facility. (i.e., paint, greasing pumps and unloading arms, lawn care, snow removal, minor mechanical repairs)
Operate equipment to facilitate loading of propane trucks, and transports.
Work extended hours and overtime as needed.
Must remain alert and focused and complete work in a safe manner, including immediate reporting of any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
Calculate correct gallons received in each railcar, by means of using dip tube and outage table.
General mechanical ability and knowledge of gas plants
Be receptive to and competently utilize innovative technologies.
Function effectively and efficiently in this safety sensitive position
Participate in “on-call” rotation and be available to work required hours that accompany it.
Regular attendance and punctuality adherence to a schedule that meets the needs of the department which increase on a seasonal basis.
Proper planning and advanced notice of time off.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights.
Ability to work with hand tools and control equipment.
Ability to discern chemical odors.
Ability to hear bells, alarms, and defects in equipment.
Ability to read computer screens, gages, and meters.
Ability to communicate with others via two-way radio, telephone, email, and face to face.
Ability to drive an industrial lift truck, Snowplow, and other motorized equipment.
Ability to wear PPE.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Maine Plant Operators License.
Previous Propane Rail Plant Operations Experience Preferred.
Maintain all Federal, State, and Local Licensing and Certifications required to perform as Plant Operator.
Intermediate knowledge of and skills in Microsoft Office products.
Read and write English and perform basic math skills.
Ability to perform all functions of the job in every weather condition, day, and night.
