Lead Financial Controller

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lead Financial Controller to lead our dynamic Accounting Team. The ideal candidate will excel at prioritizing tasks, communicating effectively, managing risks, and implementing strategies for operational enhancements. Key Responsibilities:Manage the preparation of financial statements and reporting to ensure compliance with all guidelines and regulations (GAAP, tax, FAR), fostering collaboration with the Operations and Contract Teams to uphold industry standards. Oversee the implementation of advancements and automations in our financial ERP system to enhance integrity, compliance, and efficiency. Develop, document, and execute internal policies that are in line with regulatory obligations and industry best practices. Engage in all aspects of DCAA reporting, including annual I.C.E submissions and CAS reporting. Safeguard the company's assets and information by maintaining comprehensive policies and procedures. Estimate short and long-term cash flows to ensure sufficient funding and liquidity. Lead the Accounting Team, with a focus on improving performance in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Reporting. Support the professional growth of team members, preparing them for potential leadership roles. Guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of crucial processes such as journal entries, allocations, and account reconciliations. Manage the annual external financial and compliance audits as needed. Drive continuous improvement in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting both internally and externally. Collaborate on enhancing annual and quarterly budgeting processes and the reporting of budget versus actual performance. Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of FAR and DCAA compliance in a cost-plus environment is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role. At least 6 years of experience in managing teams. Strong proficiency in MS Excel and advanced capabilities in MS Office Suite. Ability to facilitate problem-solving in others. Experience managing accounting ERP systems (e.g., JAMIS or Costpoint). Solid understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis. Experience in budget management and model creation is a plus.
