Mechanical Project Engineer

Compensation : $85,000 - $120,000 + 10% Bonus + Paid RelocationThe Project Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing equipment and process improvement projects at our client's South Columbus, OH facility. This includes both new equipment installations and upgrades to existing systems.In this role, you will work closely with contractors, operations, maintenance teams, vendors, purchasing, and EHS to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.A key focus of the position is mechanical controls engineering, integrating mechanical equipment with automation, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure reliable and safe plant operations.ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design and mechanical-controls integration for plant projectsSelect equipment, develop system layouts, and support system integrationDefine project scope, obtain bids, and oversee contractor workManage project schedules, budgets, and spendingCoordinate plant outages and support equipment start-upCommunicate project plans with both technical and non-technical teamsDevelop training and operating procedures related to new systemsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field5+ years of capital project engineering experience (chemical or manufacturing environment preferred)Experience integrating mechanical systems with automation or controlsStrong problem-solving and project management skillsAbility to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
