Position OverviewThis position requires a presence in the office five times a week.Targeted Years of Experience3-5 yearsDespite the title, this role specifically seeks Satellite Engineering specialists. The focus is on RF theory and physical hardware rather than traditional IT networking.Primary Focus: Satellite theory, RF frequencies (KU-C bands), and large-scale antenna operations.Key Technical Knowledge: Spectrum analyzers, satellite test equipment, and understanding the difference between HPA and SSPA.Certifications: CCNA/CCNP are considered "nice to have," but are secondary to satellite experience.Contract & Candidate ProfileTerms: 2-year contract with a high historical probability of FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) conversion.Location: Requires relocation at candidate's expense to Andover, Maine.Experience Levels: 3–5 years of satellite communications experience.Military: Strategic military backgrounds are highly valued (tactical experience is less relevant here).Education: A Bachelor's degree is optional if the candidate has the required years of experience.Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a "boots-on-the-ground" role that balances technical configuration with heavy mechanical labor.Hardware: Installation, configuration, and maintenance of six 13-meter antenna systems.Mechanical Work: Hands-on maintenance, including the physical oiling and greasing of antenna systems.Customer Support: Supporting the SCES collocation project by installing new equipment as requested.Shift Structure & TrainingThe facility operates 24/7, requiring a rotating schedule to maintain coverage.Schedule: 4x10 shift (4 days on, 3 days off).Shift Times:Day: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.Swing: 1:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.Midshift: 10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.Onboarding: New hires will spend the first 2 months on day shift for training before being moved to swing or midshifts to fill current staffing gaps.Relocating to Andover, Maine offers a unique opportunity to work in a serene and picturesque environment, providing a perfect balance between professional growth and quality of life.
