As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch care to our furry patients.Veterinary Technician Responsibilities & DutiesUtilize your expertise in and to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating animals.Apply your knowledge of to support in medical procedures and surgeries.Demonstrate proficiency in to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.Communicate effectively with the veterinary team and pet owners, providing updates on patient status and care instructions.Utilize your understanding of to accurately document patient information and treatment plans.Assist in and as needed, ensuring the well-being of all animals in our care.Demonstrate gentle techniques and provide compassionate to promote healing and comfort.Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and proceduresRestrain animals safely and effectively during exams and treatmentsAdminister medications and vaccinations under the direction of a veterinarianPrepare surgical equipment and assist during surgeriesMonitor the recovery of animals post-surgeryClean and disinfect examination rooms and surgical areasFeed, bathe, and exercise animalsCollect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and fecesMaintain accurate and detailed patient recordsProvide education and support to pet owners on general animal care and nutritionAssist in emergency situations by providing first aid and stabilizing animals before the veterinarian's interventionPerform basic diagnostic tests like taking X-rays and running blood testsEnsure a clean, safe, and organized work environmentVeterinary Technician Requirements:Previous experience working in a veterinary or animal care setting, preferred not requiredProficiency in using veterinary practice management softwareStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentBasic understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniquesKnowledge of common veterinary pharmaceuticals and their usesBasic first aid and CPR certification for animalsComfortable handling a variety of animals, including those that are anxious or aggressiveHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to lift and restrain animals of various sizesAvailability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsCompassion and empathy towards animals and their ownersBasic computer skills for managing records and schedulingPhysical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasksGood problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressureCommitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary work environmentWillingness to continue education and training in veterinary medicineIf you are a dedicated Veterinary Technician looking to join a supportive team that values your contributions, we invite you to apply.
