About the Role:
Product Genius is seeking a Software Engineer to join its product development team and help scale its AI-powered shopping platform. This remote role is suited to an early-career engineer who enjoys solving practical problems, writing maintainable code, and building products that deliver measurable value to customers. You will work alongside software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product leads, gaining mentorship while contributing to features that are delivered to production in a fast-moving, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and improve backend functionality for the AI-powered shopping platform.
Build and maintain server-side applications using Python 3.x.
Work with caching systems, modern databases, and cloud platforms to support scalable applications.
Contribute to software involving machine learning or reinforcement learning architectures.
Collaborate with software engineers, machine learning engineers, researchers, and product leads.
Deliver functional, production-ready features in an agile development environment.
Refactor and improve code quality while balancing maintainability with rapid product delivery.
Participate in pair programming and collaborate on technical solutions.
Develop an understanding of customer needs and use feedback to improve product experiences.
Seek guidance when needed, work independently when appropriate, and contribute to continuous team learning.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in backend software engineering.
Experience with server-side Python 3.x.
Familiarity with caching, modern database technologies, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional team members.
Interest in building AI-first software products and contributing to a growing startup.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one year of software development experience.
Familiarity with machine learning or reinforcement learning architectures.
Working knowledge of frontend technologies such as HTML5, React, Node.js, and WebSockets.
Experience working in an agile product development environment.
Interest in e-commerce, AI-powered applications, and improving customer experiences.
