Field Maintenance Technician - Material Handling Automation
About the Role
This is a full-time, travel-based maintenance opportunity—no relocation required. Expect frequent trips (typically 80% or more) to distribution facilities where you’ll keep automated material handling systems running at peak performance. All transportation from your hometown to the project location and back, plus accommodation, are covered.
What You’ll Do
Champion a safe workplace by following established safety procedures
Execute preventative maintenance routines and capture thorough documentation
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and related components
Build positive working relationships across the operations facility
Track and organize department inventory
Meet physical demands: lift/move up to 49 lbs and remain on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
What It Takes
2+ years with automated conveyor systems and controls
2+ years repairing material handling equipment
2+ years performing predictive and preventative maintenance
1+ years reading blueprints and electrical schematics
1+ year applying electrical and electronic principles
Experience with MHE safety practices aligned to OEM and site safety standards
Project management experience
Hands‑on use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Experience operating and maintaining robotic or electromechanical systems
Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output (I/O) functions
Travel & Logistics
Heavy travel expected—typically 80% or more
All transportation and lodging are covered for each assignment
