Electrical Field Engineer

· Description: o Manager is looking for someone with strong Electrical Field Engineering experience to support the construction of Toyota facility. o This individual will be responsible for installation and maintenance of required electrical equipment at the construction facility. o Location: Gardena, CA; 100% on-site o Duration: 12 months with possible extension and the candidates may be asked work on other projects after this is completed. o Travel: None, till the time this project is completed but the team may require them to travel if there are needs in different projects after this one, at other locations. No dispatch will be provided. o Overtime: 20-25% potentially Required Skills – · OSHA 10 over above · Professional experience working as a Electrical Field Engineer for at least 5 years · Experience working on construction project is highly preferred. Reason for Request: E&F needs an Electrical Field Engineer to support the Proton Project Detailed Description of Responsibilities: · Facilitate electrical building system design, startups & commissioning activities. · Provide subject matter expert assistance in review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings and specifications, & contractor generated RFIs. · Extensive knowledge of safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for electrical installations including but not limited to Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Control of Hazardous Energy, & arc flash safety. · Possess extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industry standards (including but not limited to: IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM). · Work with building construction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning & handover to end users. · Coordination of weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, & manufacturing shops. · Conduct work progress inspections on a continuous basis · Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages. · Conduct inspections and observations of electrical building systems for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, & applicable codes. · Oversee work of electrical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestone targets, & coordination with other groups. · Prepare field engineering status reports of work progress and schedule to Project Managers. · Provide input and feedback to improve project technical specifications and standards. · Ability to effectively communicate technical matters in written & verbal formats. · Ability to multi-task, manage time, & prioritize project commitments based on established deadlines and project milestones. · · Requirements: Required Qualifications: · At least 5 years of professional experience. · 2+ years in construction management. · Experience in design criteria development for electrical systems. · Automotive experience with engine, transmission, or vehicle facilities or similar industrial manufacturer. · 5+ years in electrical design field. · Good organizational skills, communication skills, schedule management skills. · Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project Additional Desired Qualifications: · Bluebeam, AutoCAD Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Major: Electrical Engineering Job Type: Contract Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: Gardena, CA 90247: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: OSHA: 3 years (Required) Electrical engineering: 3 years (Required) Construction management: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
