Large Press Set-Up Operator III**Location: Saint Paul, MNDepartment: OperationsType: Full-timeWhat You’ll Be DoingAs a Large Press Set-Up Operator III, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring high-quality stamped parts are produced safely, efficiently, and to customer specifications. You’ll bring expert-level press setup knowledge, mentor junior operators, and collaborate closely with production, toolroom, and maintenance teams to support on-time delivery and continuous improvement.A Day In The Life Read and interpret complex blueprints, job routings, and work instructions Expertly set up and operate large presses to achieve quality parts and maximum production efficiency Set up all types of complex tooling, including draws, forms, and progressive dies Stage all required materials so production can begin without delay Use dispatch displays to determine job priorities and next setups Conduct root cause analysis on die or press issues and coordinate with toolroom and maintenance for repairs Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures Inspect materials and finished parts for defects and verify compliance with specifications Identify and label materials accurately using tags or labels Perform routine mechanical maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area Train and mentor Level I and II Set-Up Operators Capture and document work instructions to ensure consistent setups and production runs Accurately enter production and quality data into the company data collection system Follow all established safety procedures and compliance guidelines Perform other related duties as assignedYou’re a Great Fit If You Have expert-level knowledge of press setups and tooling Can read and interpret complex blueprints with confidence Are highly detail-oriented with strong inspection and quality skills Excel at troubleshooting and resolving press or tooling issues independently Manage time effectively to meet production schedules Communicate clearly with production, maintenance, and tooling teams Enjoy mentoring and supporting the development of less experienced operators Prioritize safety, quality, and continuous improvementEducation And Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication or related workPhysical Requirements Ability to see and hear with vision including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the shift Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating equipment Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus during long shifts Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbsWhy Work With Us?Join a team-driven manufacturing environment where your expertise directly impacts product quality and production success.
