Sales - Senior Key Account Executive
Reports To: Duracell Food Sr. Director, Pam NovakLocation: Portland, OR (Remote)Job OverviewThe Kroger Senior Manager contributes to Duracell's success by leading and managing essential strategy and business development. We are searching for a highly talented and committed leader with direct Kroger account management experience that can work with internal and external data and develop a story beneficial to driving category growth and profitability at Kroger and for the company. Individual must have strong analytic and customer facing experience. Strong preference for a candidate with direct Kroger experience.Responsibilities and Duties (including but not limited to the following):Principal accountabilities include Strategy Development and Business Plan Delivery, to meet/exceed financial goals at Kroger. Account-specific goals include topline sales, dollar share growth, PNL ownership, driving cost savings, forecast accuracy, SRM management, and promotional planning/execution. Individual must have strong analytic skills and customer facing experience.Strategy DevelopmentLeader of Kroger Omnichannel Strategy, merchandising plan, portfolio, and executionMain point of contact for Kroger Buying Teams (Buyer, planners, and JBP teams)Develop, sell, implement, monitor, and execute Annual Merchandising Plan Strategy/Plan, including the tactics and activities that are part of annual JBP with Kroger.Sells, negotiates, and executes Duracell's initiatives with Kroger (new product launches, product transitions, price changes, brand restages, technology improvements, etc.)Responsible for Kroger's unit and dollar shipment forecast, serving as liaison between demand forecast and supply chain partners. Key contributor of Trade Flow for Kroger working with MS&P, finance, demand planning, and supply chain team.Tracks and executes business-building strategic plans and account-specific programs to capitalize on opportunities and amplify merchandising activities.Creates "Close the Gap" plans where/when required to deliver Kroger KPIs.Deliver business plan to meet/exceed financial targets.Delivers Kroger KPIs such as Topline sales, instore/online sales growth, on-shelf availability, supply service KPI's and execution.Owner of P&L; responsible for growing Duracell's Gross sales, net revenue, and operating Income, while continuously improving ROS.Leads and collaborates with central and multifunctional teams to deliver customer ́s KPI's.Works with finance partners, analyzes ROI on incremental opportunities investments required and creates the appropriate recommendations for approval.Owns forecasting and funding investment vs. plan to ensure budget adherenceLeads and manages third parties that are needed for Kroger's business operations.Deep analysis of consumption to identify new opportunities within Kroger or reapply opportunities from the market that will drive the business.Responsible for Kroger account receivables and trade fund payments ensuring all plans are appropriately documented and timely paid or reconciled in partnership with broker partner.Skills NeededAbility to develop strategic relationships and alignment both internally and externallyMust possess strong financial acumen to sell and communicate internally and externally.Ability to lead and drive Kroger business.Must be able to form relationships and work closely with business team/organization and broker partner(s).Ability to solve problems by interpreting a variety of information and identify a position while selling with conviction.Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeMinimum of 5 - 8 years of account management CPG sales experience. Preferred with Kroger.The ability to portray a confident and winning attitude in challenging business interactions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and story-telling abilityProven experience that reflects being results-oriented.Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with both internal and external contacts.The ability to apply financial data to make decisions and influence outcome; understanding of financial metrics, including margins, retail math, forecast/projections, velocities, and other analytical skills not mentioned.The ability to tell a holistic story versus taking a transactional approach.Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.Syndicated data experience (IRI, Nielsen, NPD).Customer data experience, with preference in 84.51 Stratum, 84.51 OnDemand/Market 6Broker/broker management experience preferredExcel experience with ability to manipulate data, create pivot tables, functions, and formulas.PowerPoint experience with ability to create compelling, easy to understand, fact-based stories.Proven track record of collaborating and working with a cross-functional organization.Strong organizational ability.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Problem-solving skills and opportunity identification.Empowering individual contributor/ leader, collaborator, and teammate.Travel: This position will require some travel.
