Job Summary:Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironment ConfigurationConfigure the Microsoft Purview account, collections, and scanning infrastructure. Establish and configure connectivity to various data sources, including Oracle databases, AWS services (RDS/Redshift,S3), Microsoft 365, and Snowflake.Data Discovery and ScanningConfigure, execute, and monitor data scans across all connected data sources. Define and manage scan scope, scheduling, and performance parameters to ensure comprehensive data inventory coverage.Data Classification and LabelingApply and tune built-in and custom classification rules to accurately identify PII and other sensitive data. Validate classification results with DOL stakeholders and support the integration of sensitivitylabels with other tools.Data Catalog and Metadata ManagementPopulate and maintain the Purview data catalog, configure metadata attributes, and manage business glossary elements. Support data lineage capture and validation to ensure metadata completeness andconsistency.Integration and SecuritySupport the integration of Purview with Zero Trust tools like Zscaler for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) enforcement. Assist in validating data-in-transit and data-at-rest security controls.Performance and Cost AnalysisMonitor system performance, track Purview consumption, and optimize scanning strategies. Support the analysis of the platform's impact on cloud service costs.Issue ResolutionIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to connectivity, scanning, and classification. Coordinate with Microsoft Professional Services for complex issue resolution and documentall issues and their resolutions.Documentation and ReportingDocument all configurations, processes, and implementation steps. Provide weekly status updates and contribute to the final POC findings and recommendations report.QualificationsProven hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview implementation and configuration.Strong technical knowledge of and experience with a variety of data platforms, including:OracleAmazon Web Services (AWS) - RDS, Redshift, S3Microsoft 365 - SharePoint, OneDrive, TeamsSnowflakeExpertise in data governance, data classification, and metadata management best practices.Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and principles.Experience with authentication mechanisms such as managed identities, service principals, and IAM roles.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear documentation and reports.Knowledge of federal data security and AI-related mandates (OMB M-22-09, Executive Order 14110, OMB M-24-10) is a plus.
