Job Title: Electrical EngineerLocation: Austin, TXJob Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Electrical Engineer to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role will focus on architecting, optimizing, and advancing workflows for electrical and mechanical design teams, with a strong emphasis on ECAD processes, PCB design, and next-generation tool integration.The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and continuously seeks opportunities to improve systems, processes, and design methodologies.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for hardware engineers and PCB designers, providing expert guidance on workflow and tool-related challenges.Collaborate closely with cross-functional design teams to understand requirements, identify gaps, and translate needs into actionable technical solutions.Champion and standardize ECAD best practices, including schematic capture, PCB layout, DFM, data management, and design collaboration processes.Partner with IT teams and tool developers to define, design, and implement next-generation ECAD workflows and tooling solutions.Drive automation, optimization, and efficiency improvements throughout the entire ECAD design lifecycle.Lead the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies into ECAD processes, including design rule checking, component selection, layout optimization, predictive modeling, and data analysis.Contribute to the strategic roadmap for ECAD tools and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with current operational needs and future innovation goals.Support continuous improvement initiatives across hardware development programs.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in ECAD design, PCB layout, DFM, or related hardware engineering fields.Strong expertise with industry-standard ECAD tools such as Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Mentor Graphics Xpedition, or Altium Designer.Solid understanding of PCB fabrication processes, design constraints, and manufacturability considerations.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and provide structured solutions.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
