Assistant Manager (E-Commerce Team)
Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for an Assistant Manager to supervise donated-goods retail E-Commerce operations, auctions, & employees with our values of love, kindness, and respect.Hours & Schedules:Full-Time (40 hours/week)No retail holiday season! This role requires an innovative approach focused on helping to drive e-commerce revenue, productivity, and customer service by leading department processes and systems. This position works with team members to problem-solve, enhance processes, and grow revenue and mission outcomes.Job Duties:Leads, coaches, and develops team members within GCI's (Goodwill of Central Iowa) organization values of love, kindness, and respect.Assists in driving department to achieve KPIs (key performance indicators) and department goals.Coordinates training of team members to effectively sort, identify, post, and test collectible and/or valuable merchandise.Performs processes and reporting in online marketplaces to leverage profitability and sales.Assists in e-commerce projects to enhance the e-commerce experience through various platforms (i.e., Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.)Monitors and reports on expenses, production, and sales supporting revenue goals and funding of Goodwill of Central Iowa's mission.Effectively uses technology such as phone system, Microsoft Office suite, and Human Resources Information System to communicate, monitor, and track department activities.Regularly completes and submits reports, performs employee actions within the HRIS (human resources information system), monitors and updates timekeeping and payroll data for team members, monitors employee training progress in the LMS (learning management system) and assists employees in accessing their records and training within our systems.Uses organization safety and security processes and provides training to team members to ensure processes are followed.Leads communication with team members through team meetings, one-on-one conversations, electronically, and by posting or distributing relevant written materials.Ensures customer service processes are followed, trains employees on providing excellent customer service.Performs other duties as assigned.Preferred SkillsExperience with successfully achieving sales and/or production goals.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Motivated to learn, with the ability to work independently and with a team.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Teams, Word, and ExcelRequired Qualifications:1 year of supervisory experience and 1-2 years of hands-on experience in retail and/or ecommerce sales platforms.A valid Iowa driver license, a good driving record, and ability to provide proof of personal vehicle insurance with a minimum of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident auto insurance liability coverage.Must be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.Occasional travel necessary within the Des Moines metro area.Physical Requirements:Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry 40 lbs.Ability to sit, be stationary, or mobile for long periods of time.Working Conditions:Ability to tolerate variations in temperature in a warehouse setting.Goodwill of Central Iowa is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/M/F/Vet/Disability) and E-Verify Participant.The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
