Position Type:Support StaffDate Posted:5/15/2026Location:Miami Yoder School DistrictClosing Date:07/01/2026Head TransportationGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:Supervises: All bus drivers, bus aides, and small vehicle driversEnsures each student, through safe and efficient transportation, takes full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extracurricular activities offered by the district. Ensures the transportation fleet is maintained in proper working order.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPReports to superintendentPRIMARY DUTIES:The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. The district reserves the right to modify or change the duties or essential functions of this job at anytime.Develop plans on vehicle replacements and personnel needsAttends Transportation meetings and workshops throughout the year and reports to critical issues to the superintendentRecommend employment of bus drivers, and bus aidesEvaluations of drivers, and aidesInstruct and train all new bus driversMaintains all records on vehicles, and drivers and ensures all drivers meet CDE requirementsConduct safety meetings each year as recommended by CDETakes care of all bus routing, scheduling of extra curricular events, and other special transportation needsProcess vehicle use requestsAssign activity and substitute driversResponsible for turning in yearly, monthly, weekly and daily reports as required, and maintenance records.Report data to the Colorado Department of Education annually via the CDE-40 collection.Ensure all vehicles meet Sate and Federal regulationsMay be assigned other duties of equal or less responsibility by the superintendentNECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (scope of interpersonal contacts)21 years old or olderPossess valid Colorado Drivers license (CDL S endorsement). With a good driving record.Current first aid and CPR cardHave per-employment drug and alcohol testingMaintain confidentiality.Ability to work with personnel, students, and the general public.Ability to prioritize workload with multiple tasks.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work is generally performed within a standard office environment. Must be able to stand, sit for long periods, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, twist push or pull up to 40 pounds and be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
