Payroll Specialist
Are you detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about making sure people get paid accurately and on time? We’re looking for a driven and reliable Payroll Specialist to become an essential part of our team!In this role, you’ll take the lead on processing bi-weekly payroll, managing benefits reporting, and supporting employees with great customer service. From reviewing timesheets, issuing direct deposits, to handling W-2s, and processing checks; the Payroll Specialist will play a key part in keeping our payroll operations running smoothly and in full compliance. Our programs deeply engage in conversations and training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to bring equity and justice to the youth and families we serve.Responsibilities Review time sheets for accuracy and issue appropriate approvals.Process bi-weekly payroll for employees.Update payroll records and follow procedures for salary changes and department transfers. Timely reporting of adds, drops, and changes in individual employee benefit coverage. Compilation of required reports for remittance of garnishments and flexible spending account (FSA) payments. Export payroll files, issue payroll checks, and upload direct deposit file to banks. Complete tax payment remittances. Manage federal and multiple state tax filings. Assist with issuance of W-2 statements. Verify qualification for vacation, sick, etc. pay for requesting employees. Maintain active and inactive payroll files. Process checks for termination and special cases. Produce, distribute, and file payroll reports. Provide great customer service to employees with questions related payroll, benefits and taxes. Exercise confidentiality in both internal and external matters.
