This job is full-time permanent.Position SummaryThe Woodroom / Woodyard Production Supervisor serves as a resource and team leader within the wood processing areas of the mill. This role is responsible for leading daily operations, leading personnel, and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance in support of pulp mill productions. The position reports directly to the Pulp Mill Operations Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage both people and processes within the Woodroom and Woodyard operationsCoordinate daily production activities consistently meeting safety and production metricsPartner with the Pulp Wood Procurement Manager on wood receiving and inventory managementResponsible for department performance to meet safety, quality, cost, and production metricsCoordinate with maintenance teams to improve reliability, productivity, and safetyManage supplier relationships and oversee material flowProvide oversight of rail services operationsPromote a culture focused on safety, environmental stewardship, and employee engagementTrain and develop employees in both technical and non-technical areas as neededKey CompetenciesSafetyDemonstrates strong safety leadership and accountabilityActively participates in and promotes safety initiativesModels consistent safe work practicesLeadership / PeopleBuilds positive working relationships and team commitmentEffectively resolves conflict and works across departmentsLeads by example and earns respect from peersResults OrientationDelivers on commitments and aligns with mill goalsIdentifies and acts on priorities with minimal directionUnderstands business drivers and operational impactFlexibilityWilling to take on challenging assignmentsAdapts to changing priorities and operational needsEffectively manages time and resourcesQualifications & RequirementsGeneral knowledge of woodroom/woodyard operations and papermaking processesMinimum of 3 years of relevant direct leadership experienceDegree in Pulp & Paper, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferredStrong computer, communication, troubleshooting, and analytical skillsMechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilityDemonstrated success in promoting a safe work environmentWillingness to work flexible hours, including rotating weekend coverageYou will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).Domtar is an equal-opportunity employer.
