Starting pay $24-$30/hour based on skills and experience **Please monitor your email for communications regarding your application**No phone inquiries pleaseJob Purpose:The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for executing the daily tasks assigned by the plant manager. Additionally, they will manage the shop and execute tasks required to run the operations when other team members are not present.Management Responsibilities:Assist the Plant Manager in the daily operations of the plant including:Production schedulingDelivery schedulingEmployee training and supportRun plant operations when the manager is outPrint packing slipsOrder materialEssential Functions:Read work ordersCut wood to length on saw per work orderAssemble skids and crates per work ordersMove raw materials and finished product with hand trucks or forklift (see forklift note below)Stage raw materials for assemblyPackage finished goods for shipmentStock completed items in the appropriate placeComplete and turn in paperwork includingActual quantityTime sheetsClean up work areaOther responsibilitiesForklift operation (once certified)Equipment maintenance per maintenance logCleanliness of work areaAssist other work areas as required to complete production requirementsSafetySafe operation of all equipmentSafety of employeesEye & hearing protectionRepairing and adjusting equipmentRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesHigh school diploma (or equivalent).Carpentry and construction backgroundMinimum of five (5) years' experience in operation and maintenance of wood cutting and assembly equipment.Basic mechanical aptitude; including ability to accurately read a tape measure.Able to perform skilled work of moderate difficulty. A high degree of initiative and creativity is required due to the complex nature of the situations/conditions of the position.Must have the ability to work independently with little to no day-to-day supervision.Ability to effectively solve problems, think clearly and positively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.Meet deadlines and fulfill commitments.Exhibit enthusiasm and an ability to work cooperatively with others.Ability to communicate well with co-workers and customers. Ability to lead, direct, mentor and supervise team members.Exhibits care and strong attention to detail.Current forklift certification (or ability to become certified)
