Staff Accountant

E S S E N T I A L F U N C T I O N S
Under the direction of the Controller, develops and carries out internal audit function.
Accumulates required data and oversees preparation of annual cost report.
Participates in development of annual capital and operations budgets.
Works with Ivinson Medical Group leadership to supply monthly operations reports.
As needed, serves as a back-up to all accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable and controller.
Supports 403b administration.
Prepares monthly bank and other reconciliations as directed by the Controller.
As needed, assists with the monitoring of expenditures and reports monthly on the status of construction projects.
As needed, assists in the preparation of financial analyses pertaining to capital equipment expenditures, new programs, joint ventures, and physician recruitment initiatives.
Provides continuous, proactive assistance to Managers to support financial objectives and to respond to questions as needed.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
E D U C A T I O N
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required.
CPA or public accounting experience preferred.
E X P E R I E N C E
Working knowledge of patient billing and Medicare cost reporting preferred.
Two years of direct accounting experience required.
Previous experience with a sophisticated heath care system preferred.

Working knowledge of business law, payer contracting, and information systems preferred.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and 10 key by touch.

Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
