Right of Way Herbicide ApplicatorCompany: Chop Tree ServicePosition OverviewChop Tree Service is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Right of Way Herbicide Applicator to join our vegetation management team. This position is responsible for the application of herbicides along utility corridors, roadways, and other right of way areas to control unwanted vegetation and maintain clear, safe pathways for infrastructure and public use. This is a position with growth opportunities for a dedicated individual. We are looking for people in multiple areas of Michigan including northern lower peninsula, mid lower peninsula and Detroit area. Travel involved but can be home every night.Primary ResponsibilitiesApply herbicides along utility rights of way, including power lines, pipelines, and telecommunications corridorsConduct vegetation assessments and identify target species requiring treatmentOperate spray equipment including truck-mounted spray rigs, backpack sprayers, and ATV-mounted unitsMix and prepare herbicide solutions according to label specifications and company protocolsMaintain accurate application records, including maps, volumes, and treatment locationsPerform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray equipmentFollow all federal, state, and local regulations governing pesticide applicationCollaborate with utility companies, landowners, and project managers to ensure work meets specificationsMonitor weather conditions and adjust application schedules accordinglyIdentify and report safety hazards or environmental concernsRequired QualificationsValid state pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)Valid driver's license with clean driving recordHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to read and interpret herbicide labels, safety data sheets, and regulationsAbility to travel within state lines during the weekPhysical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrainAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyPreferred Qualifications1+ years of experience in herbicide application or vegetation managementExperience with right of way or utility vegetation managementCommercial Driver's License (CDL) not necessary but preferredKnowledge of plant identification and invasive speciesExperience with GPS and mapping technologyCompensation And BenefitsCompetitive hourly wage based on experienceHealth insurancePaid time offTraining and certification supportCompany vehicle and equipment providedChop Tree Service is an Equal Opportunity EmployerTo apply, please submit your resume and cover letter to [contact information].
