Health Fitness Specialist - PRN

Position SummaryThe Health Fitness Specialist is responsible for providing fitness center supervision; high quality customer service through interacting with program participants; delivering health and fitness programs and services for member engagement and retention; instructing group exercise classes; providing personal training; conducting fitness assessments and orientations, designing exercise prescriptions, providing facility oversight; and assisting the Wellness Department Director with events.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Assists in delivering a comprehensive, holistic wellness program that addresses the mind, body and spirit across the continuum of care for residents and teammates. Develops and instructs exercise programs that foster activities of daily living in addition topromoting healthy lifestyle choices. Provides one-on-one consulting/coaching, fitness training, support, and motivation.Ensures a safe and clean environment in the fitness center and pool area.Instructs motivating and fun land (standing and chair) and water-based group fitness classes.Stays abreast of trends in the fitness/wellness industry which specifically apply to seniors. Follows and applies exercise norms/protocols established by the ACSM. Works with other departments delivering wellness programs and a continuum of services.Administers an orientation program for all exercisers. Performs pre and post functional assessments.Performs administrative and supervisory tasks associated with facility operations.Drives wellness programming throughout the community in coordination with other departments.QualificationsEducational Requirements and Experience:A minimum of 1 year instructing land and water group fitness classes to older adultsA minimum of 1 year as a Personal trainer providing services to older adultsCurrent certification from ACSM, ACE, NASM, AFAA or other NCCA accredited certification.A minimum of 1 year of experience working with older adults and high-risk clientele.MUST BE VACCINATED FOR COVID-!9Must be able to work 9a-1p
