Tool & Die Maker opening in Concord NC Direct hire. Journeyman status required$35.50-$37.50 Hourly1st shift (7AM-3PM)Need someone who is very strong with the tooling side Tool & Die Maker – Job DescriptionMain Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain machines, tools, and equipment including:Vertical and horizontal millsLathesSurface grindersDrills, saws, and assorted measuring toolsWork with a variety of materials, including:Aluminum, mild steelTool steels (A2, A6, D2, S7, O1, CPM10V, CPM M4)Brass, copper, stainless steelPlastics and phenolicsPlan and execute all stages of toolmaking projects independently in a cost-effective manner, including:Cutting raw stockMilling, drilling, and grindingHeat treatingFinish grinding and EDMCollaborate directly with engineers and technical personnel to:Modify toolingBuild jigs, fixtures, and gaugesCoordinate with external vendors as neededTake full ownership of product quality by identifying and eliminating non-conformancesPerform additional duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications & ProfileEducationHigh school diploma or GED preferredMust be able to read, write, and perform basic mathExperienceCompletion of a certified Tool & Die apprenticeship requiredStrong experience with injection molding is required, including:Understanding plastic flow during heating and mold fillingKnowledge of mold cavity design and how tooling impacts the molding process
