Join us.Role SummaryThe Manager, Customer Planning will help architect and operationalize Rowan’s customer development discipline. This role does not own customer relationships directly, but owns the structure, planning cadence, and reporting rigor that supports our Customer Leads in advancing strategic accounts.This individual will ensure Rowan maintains clear visibility into customer status, next steps, competitive positioning, and multi-year engagement roadmaps — while keeping processes efficient and lightweight.The role sits within Business Development and works closely with Customer Leads, BD Ops, Sales Engineering, and cross-functional partners (Sites, Energy, Finance, Legal).Travel: Ability to travel up to 40% for customer meetings, site visits or company gatherings.Location: Denver, CO (3 day hybrid in-office role)Compensation: $130-$165K (Offers Bonus)Essential ResponsibilitiesCustomer Planning & Account StructureDevelop and maintain structured account planning frameworks for priority customersEnsure Customer Leads maintain clear engagement plans, objectives, milestones, and next stepsSupport development of multi-year customer engagement roadmaps aligned with Rowan’s capital deployment strategyReporting & Pipeline VisibilityImplement and manage a light-touch CRM approach (likely SmartSheets-based)Maintain weekly visibility into customer status, stage, and key actionsEnsure opportunity data is current and accurate for executive reporting, MBRs, and investor updatesSupport competitive tracking and customer intelligence coordination with BD Ops and Customer & Market InsightsCross-Functional CoordinationPartner with BD Ops to align customer planning with commercial execution timelinesSupport coordination between Customer Leads, Sales Engineering, and internal teamsHelp ensure customer opportunities are sequenced and scoped appropriatelyContinuous ImprovementStrengthen planning discipline as Rowan scales, while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracyIdentify workflow gaps and recommend improvements to enhance execution claritySupport onboarding of new Customer Leads with structured planning tools and processesEducation, Skills, And Experience3–5+ years of experience in sales operations, strategic planning, business operations, consulting, or related rolesExperience supporting enterprise or strategic account teams preferred (data center, infrastructure, real estate, energy, or adjacent industries a plus)Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field preferred)Strong organizational and analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex information into clear action plansExperience with CRM and reporting tools (SmartSheets, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)Ability to work cross-functionally with executive visibilityClear communicator who balances structure with flexibilityFueled by Excellence & CollaborationAt Rowan, we are a distributed team united by a common mission to transform data center delivery.
